19: Wood utilization
150 years ago, the Emmental was almost bare - today, the sustainable use of wood is of great importance here. In order to make better use of regional energy resources and improve consumption efficiency, the «Emmental Energy Region» was founded in 2010 under the name «Oil of Emmental». It formulates concrete goals for the energy future of the Emmental and works continuously towards these goals.
